Pengembangan Desain Fasilitas Guesthouse di Perkotaan: Sinergi Mahasiswa dan Masyarakat dalam Peningkatan Ruang Wisata Urban

Tren staycation pasca pandemi COVID-19 mendorong kebutuhan akan pengembangan ruang wisata urban yang tidak hanya fungsional, tetapi juga berkelanjutan dan berbasis komunitas. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini berfokus pada pengembangan desain fasilitas guesthouse sebagai bagian dari wisata urban berkelanjutan melalui pendekatan desain partisipatif. Kegiatan dilaksanakan bersama mitra PP Salimah yang memiliki lahan potensial di kawasan Samirono Baru, Sleman. Proses perancangan melibatkan masyarakat secara aktif dalam tahapan eksplorasi kebutuhan, survei tapak, analisis potensi, hingga evaluasi desain, dengan mengintegrasikan prinsip rancangan kontekstual, adaptif, dan berkelanjutan pada aspek lingkungan, sosial, dan ekonomi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan desain partisipatif tidak hanya menghasilkan rancangan fasilitas guesthouse yang responsif terhadap konteks lokal, tetapi juga meningkatkan kapasitas masyarakat dalam memahami prinsip keberlanjutan ruang. Produk akhir berupa gambar teknis, model 3D, dan maket fisik berperan sebagai media komunikasi desain sekaligus sarana pembelajaran reflektif bagi mahasiswa. Melalui penerapan project-based learning, kegiatan ini terbukti efektif dalam mengembangkan kemampuan analitis, teknis, dan kolaboratif mahasiswa arsitektur dalam merespon tantangan sosial dan lingkungan melalui praktik desain berbasis komunitas.
