Abstract

Kegiatan ini merupakan bentuk pendampingan masyarakat berbasis Participatory Action Research (PAR) yang dilaksanakan di sebuah masjid komunitas di Kelurahan Polowijen, Kota Malang. Latar belakang kegiatan ini adalah kondisi masjid yang tidak lagi mampu mengakomodasi pertumbuhan jumlah jamaah dan ragam aktivitas sosial-keagamaan warga, serta minimnya perencanaan arsitektur yang terstruktur. Pendampingan dilakukan dalam tiga tahap dengan tujuh kegiatan kolaboratif, mulai dari identifikasi permasalahan, survei lapangan, diskusi desain, hingga sosialisasi hasil. Implementasi PAR dalam kegiatan ini ditunjukkan melalui keterlibatan warga secara aktif dalam proses pengambilan keputusan, pembentukan konsensus desain, serta refleksi bersama terhadap kebutuhan ruang ibadah. Melalui proses ini, warga dan takmir masjid berperan aktif dalam merumuskan rancangan ruang ibadah yang lebih inklusif, adaptif, dan kontekstual. Hasil kegiatan mencakup dokumen perancangan arsitektural yang siap digunakan sebagai acuan pembangunan dan alat advokasi komunitas. Kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa desain arsitektur dapat menjadi medium pemberdayaan sosial dan regenerasi budaya lokal apabila dilakukan melalui pendekatan partisipatif yang menjunjung prinsip kesetaraan.
