Edukasi Digital Literasi Lingkungan dan Bencana Sosio-Ekologis melalui Konten Media Sosial untuk Kesadaran Lingkungan Generasi Muda Indonesia

Abstract

The floods and landslides in Sumatra and Aceh in November 2025, driven by environmental degradation and extreme rainfall, highlight the need to strengthen environmental literacy and preparedness for socio-ecological disasters. This community engagement program aimed to analyze the effectiveness of social media-based digital education in expanding information reach and increasing audience engagement on environmental literacy and socio-ecological disaster issues. The program was conducted from December 2025 to April 2026 using a social media-based environmental education approach, comprising planning, development and dissemination of six educational themes, and evaluation based on the reaction and results levels of the Kirkpatrick model. Visual content and communicative narratives were disseminated through Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. The results showed that Instagram achieved 126,200 views, with audiences predominantly aged 18–44 years and an engagement rate of 3.07%; TikTok achieved 2.38%, with a more diverse audience and active participation through comments; while Facebook recorded 0.93%. A multi-platform digital communication strategy was more effective in expanding information reach and increasing public engagement. Integrated social media use has the potential to strengthen environmental literacy, disaster preparedness, and community resilience to socio-ecological disasters.
