Processing Charge

1. General Principles of Article Processing Charges (APC)

All articles published in JLBI (Jurnal Lingkungan Binaan Indonesia) are freely accessible online under an open access policy. This journal does not offer commercial reprint services and publishes content exclusively in electronic format.

To support high-quality publishing operations, Article Processing Charges (APC) are charged only after a manuscript is accepted. There are no submission fees or review fees. Rejected manuscripts are not subject to APC.

2. Scope of APC

The APC covers the following services:

  • Website hosting and indexing services;
  • Peer review process;
  • Similarity check using Turnitin (reports available upon request);
  • Citation formatting/reference list;
  • Language checking;
  • Layout editing in accordance with the journal’s template and standards;
  • DOI registration for each article;
  • Final publication in downloadable PDF format;
  • Open access distribution of research results.

3. APC Fee

  1. Publication fee: IDR 750,000 per article.
  2. Discount for IPLBI Members: Active IPLBI members who regularly pay annual membership fees are eligible for a discounted fee of IDR 500,000 per article. Please upload a PDF copy of the IPLBI Membership Certificate (2025–2028).

Payment is due after the manuscript is accepted, following the official instructions from the JLBI Editorial Board.

The APC applies to manuscripts with a maximum length of:

  • 16 pages for original research/ discourse/ research methodology articles, and
  • 25 pages for review articles.

Manuscripts exceeding these limits will be subject to an additional fee of IDR 100,000 per page. The APC amount may be adjusted in accordance with the journal’s operational policies.

4. Fee Waiver Policy (Waiver / Discount Request)

Full exemption from the Article Processing Charge (APC) is granted only to the first author on a case-by-case basis. Co-authors or corresponding authors not listed as the first author are not eligible to request a fee waiver. The editor will consider such requests based on the availability of operational support, subject to the following conditions:

  • Invited papers by the editor for a specific issue or theme;
  • Authors without adequate publication funding support (based on a written request);
  • Authors who have made significant contributions to JLBI as an editor or peer reviewer;
  • Authors affiliated with institutions outside Indonesia;
  • Authors with a Scopus h-index greater than 15; or
  • Other special circumstances deemed appropriate by the Editor-in-Chief.

Authors wishing to request a fee waiver must submit their request by replying to the APC notification email sent by the Editor-in-Chief. Requests must be submitted before the final acceptance decision (or no later than upon receipt of the final revision decision letter). The request must include a brief explanation and relevant supporting evidence (if available) to verify eligibility. The decision is final and made by the Editor-in-Chief or journal management
